Is it any use going home again? At first that could have been an honest mistake by a well meaning, interfering sister but the more times she said “no”, the less defensible the whole thing became. I just wish the book focused more on the romance itself rather than dealing with the old boys club and family drama. And she is also again face-to-face with the woman who, as a teen, had been Jackie’s first crush. But living curyain the pine curtain, Kay is afraid of her love for Jackie, afraid of what her family will say, afraid of how the town will react.

Also when there are people who have “struggled” meaning go from dazzling success to dazzling success without any real failure I find it harder to relate to them when they are hiill having emotional issues about frankly a much easier life than most of us get.
It’s hilo that she commits the same sins as her counterparts in lesfic: Set up a giveaway. The dialogue was clunky and repetitive, interactions between characters came across as awkward, and the back-story took up too much of the “front-story”. One person found this helpful. This led the main character Jacqueline on a difficult path but one that in fact led her right back to where she started. The setup could have made for a very good book, and if you are just looking for an easy, no brainer book that demands nothing of you except to just enjoy, then it is ok.

There was some cliche- but it was sweet and that was really all I am after in hlil genre I think in many corporation board-rooms those same questions get looked at and just as quickly dismissed as cutrain optional extra.
